"Hildegarde" is engraved on the side bearings Windsor Castle, "Swanson" is on the other side. The case is unmarked except for the maker's mark, but tests as Sterling. The "A" in Swanson obscures the "Y" in the Yapp & Woodward Y&W, though the "W" is still visible.
Victorian ladies often carried "calling cards" to leave when visiting friends. A case like this one would keep the cards tidy and at hand. Yapp & Woodward were known for making these calling card cases.
